Easy Greek Tzatziki Recipe | Asteri Tzatziki Blend

Easy Homemade Tzatziki with Asteri Tzatziki Blend

Cool, creamy, garlicky and ridiculously easy. Your Greek taverna moment is about five minutes away.

There are some things that should be complicated. Tzatziki is not one of them.

Our Asteri Tzatziki Blend was created to take the measuring, chopping and “was that too much garlic?” out of one of Greece’s most beloved dips. With sea salt, garlic, dill and Mediterranean herbs & spices already perfectly blended, all you need is thick Greek yogurt, cucumber, lemon and a good extra virgin olive oil.

The result is fresh, creamy tzatziki that tastes like you put considerably more effort into it than you actually did. We’ll keep that between us.

Asteri Kitchen: Easy Greek Tzatziki

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Rest Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6
Difficulty: Almost suspiciously easy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups full-fat Greek yogurt
  • ½ English cucumber, grated
  • 1½–2 tablespoons Asteri Tzatziki Blend, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Asteri Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus more for finishing
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh dill for garnish, optional
  • Warm or grilled pita, cut into wedges, for serving

Directions

  1. Prep the cucumber. Grate the cucumber and place it in a clean kitchen towel or several layers of paper towel. Squeeze firmly to remove as much excess moisture as possible. This is the little step that keeps your tzatziki luxuriously thick rather than watery.
  2. Mix it up. In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, drained cucumber, Asteri Tzatziki Blend, Asteri EVOO and lemon juice. Stir until thoroughly combined.
  3. Give it a minute. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This gives the dried herbs and garlic time to soften and allows all those flavors to work their magic.
  4. Finish and serve. Spoon into a serving bowl, make a few swirls across the top and drizzle generously with Asteri Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Garnish with fresh dill if you like.

Serve with warm grilled pita and prepare for the bowl to disappear.

The Asteri Tip

Make it ahead. Tzatziki gets even better after a few hours in the refrigerator as the garlic, dill and herbs bloom into the yogurt. Make it in the morning and it’ll be waiting for cocktail hour. Very civilized.

For an extra-rich version, add another drizzle of EVOO just before serving. And if you prefer a little more punch, stir in an additional teaspoon or two of Tzatziki Blend after the initial resting time.

Not Just for Pita

Calling tzatziki a “dip” rather undersells the situation.

Spoon it alongside grilled chicken or lamb, add it to a gyro or pita sandwich, serve it with roasted potatoes and vegetables, dollop it onto grain bowls, or use it as a cool contrast to grilled seafood.

You can also use the Asteri Tzatziki Blend itself beyond this recipe. Sprinkle it over roasted potatoes, chicken, fish or vegetables, or whisk it with EVOO, lemon and Greek yogurt for an easy Mediterranean dressing.

Make It an Asteri Mediterranean Table

Tzatziki is even better when it has company.

Pair it with warm pita, a big Greek salad, grilled chicken seasoned with our Festival Chicken Blend, seafood prepared with Aegean Seafood Blend, and plenty of Asteri Extra Virgin Olive Oil on the table.

One blend, one bowl, about ten minutes of actual work.

Cheaper than a flight to Greece. And delicious. 🇬🇷
